The Fantasy

I think I'm going to update on a more regular basis now. More specifically on a weekly basis, since now, I have a topic to focus on - Singapore Idol. Hanim says its fun (?) - no choice of a better word, dear? - and I do have to agree with her. I actually sat through to watch the auditions which I didn't even bother with, last season. So expect a post from me tomorrow; hopefully. I can't believe they're already eliminating 5 people from this round! I mean a group of 7 people, and only 2 makes it?! Isn't that like really rushed?

And I must say, I have more than 2 favourites in the first team =( Which means I probably won't be seeing any one of them again soon!! Ugh. Anyway, will be looking forward to it.

______________________________________

So, X3 is already out. It was one of my anticipated movie since ages ago, along with Pirates of The Carribean 2. Still I haven't watch it, but will get to do so tomorrow. I'll try anyway. And I've got another one on the list. Eragon. Yay, another fantasy/adventure movie! I love these genres. Along with those celtic, in the olden days "Lord/Lady" kinda thing. Actually I don't even know what Eragon is about, but it looks interesting. Okay, mainly, because the first thing that came across my mind when I first saw this pic was..

"Ooh, cute lead." - followed by - "Fantasy!!" (by looking at their costumes) and then I've already decided. Definitely didn't take much to convince me, did it? But I'm going to look into it more later (its called research) and hopefully I can find the book (since its an adaptation) somewhere.

Alright, so by now everyone who reads this blog should know by now that my world pretty much revolves around TV Dramas*, Movies, Music and Books*. I've just watched Tristan + Isolde (totally LOVED it! Its such a tearjerker, and I think even better than Romeo and Juliet. Have I ever mention that James Franco is soo cute?!), Nanny Mcphee (family movie, watched it with the sisters), and Amanda Byne's latest, She's the Man. Amanda is hilarious, she's a natural with comedies. Although I don't particularly like the ending, because its so cliched, but that's what you get with chick flicks. A little romance and a bit of humour doesn't hurt. Sis says I'm becoming obsessed with series involving cross-dressing? Nah, even though I do seem to read/watch a couple of series in which the girls dress up as a guy, now that I think about it.. (Ouran, HanaKimi to name a few) but then oh well.

And I need to update my E-LOG. I can't believe I totally forgot about it for a whole month!! I'm so dead.

Actions And The (melo) Dramas

Yep, although the FYP is ending soon, and the stress are coming in, I have to watch something to entertain myself, no?
I ended up with KDramas. Goong/Princess Hours was really nice, although it started to get depressing and slow near the end, but then, it did have a reasonable ending. I'm contented with that. Although I heard a second season is already on its way, I think it was 'complete' with season 1 itself, but hey, if I get to see more Yul, then no complaints. He's forever my prince! Anyway, I didn't really know what its about at first, but I ended up enjoying the show.

Just finished watching Delightful Girl Choon-Hyang/Sassy Girl Choon Hyang and it was hilarious. I totally loved the characters since they're so.. unique! I love comedy KDramas, I can't stand sappy love stories, which is not only draggy, but then it gets repetitive, and is lengthy. And Korean dramas are all concentrated on one thing - Love. JDramas has at least other themes involved, but its been so long since I've watched JDramas.

And I just realised that all the KDramas (KMovies not included) that I've watched have a lot of similarities; not that I've watch a lot. There's Full House - which was my first, and then followed by Kim Sam Soon, Goong, and lastly DGCH.

The similarities?

1. A contract is involved. Marriage, partnership, whatever it is, all those 4 dramas includes a contract.

2. An ex-lover. Or a still-in-love-with person. All of the 4 dramas has the main lead guy in love with another woman, whilst signing the contract. (But of course, in the end it just had to be the main leads together, right?)

3. Comedy! Like I said, I can't stand sappy soap operas so I'd pick mainly comical dramas. I mean, I have to watch a show and love it; not fall asleep and getting depressed halfway through.

Singapore Idol is interesting. I actually find myself following the show on Channel 5. And I forgot to mention the other time, but some of them really have talent! Really impressive. I already have my eyes out, open and on the lookout on some of them. Can't say who though, but mostly its the guys. HAH! Something must have been wrong with my eyes. And I didn't know that Terence was in it. It was quite surprising, since I thought if they're already 'stars' they do not need the honour of auditions. Boy, was I wrong. But he's really good.

I'm watching TV more. Hee, and I heard they're playing Goong on TV soon. Will definitely catch it again. In the meantime, I'm gonnna leave you with this :-

The 10 Commandments of KDrama.
1. Relationships - Love Triangle

2. Marriage - Inteference/ Opposition from family

3. The Man's Profession - Rich. Good-Looking. Intelligent. OR not. STUBBORN.

4. Girl's Profession/Job - Work at guy's company or rarely get recognition for their work.

5. The Republic of Korea Fits in Buddha's Palm?!

There are a dozen of parks in Seoul (The 3rd most populated city in the WORLD). What is the likelihood of two people with DAY JOBS spotting each other like that? But against LOGIC and PROBABILITY, One of the Main Character always sees the other person with the EVIL CHARACTER EVERYONE LOVES TO HATE (Like Chae Rin in DGCH).

6. The extent of lover's touching BEFORE & AFTER the conflict is resolved

While dating, it is ALWAYS a hug. After their conflict gets resolved, ALWAYS a KISS. There can be no IN-BETWEEN. In the earlier stages of their relationsihp, they are always hugging (no more, no less), but when the obstacle (whether its the EVIL 3rd Party and/or Evil-Crazy Parents), they start kissing EVEN THOUGH NO ONE TOLD THEM TO. Can't they kiss BEFORE and hug AFTER?

7. Cancer & Car Accidents - The main character always dies of cancer.

8. THE RICH CHARACTER's HOUSE IS ALWAYS 2-STORY HIGH

9. The Must-Have: Slapping

When the main character's pissed: SLAP. Unsatisfied? Slap. Fighting? Slap. Seeking revenge? Slap. [insert random emotion]? Slap.

As I watch k-dramas, I wonder if the roots of Korean culture lies within the Art of Slapping. Whatever the problem is, a good-ole slap can solve it. Currently, the REALISM of the slapping fascinates me. They hit hard.

10. The Chauffeur's NAME IS ALWAYS 'KIM'???

It's true that Kim is the most common Last Name in South Korea, but MOST, if not ALL drivers in the drama are named Kim. Can't there be a Driver Park? Driver Choi? Driver Cha? Driver Bang? Driver Lee? Driver Lim?! There are countless surnames, yet the driver must be 'Driver Kim' or else. Do many Kims work in the transportation field?!

Ramdum-nizer. From Nong Nong Ago.

What should I do with Goong?! This is what I hate the most, contemplating with whether I would want to watch this show again in the near future. Of course I would, but then, when you can't burn a whole series in a dvd, and can only get 3eps per disc, ...

Ah well.
Anyway, I've been having a lot of harsh thoughts lately. Well, just not peaceful ones. Mainly about how harsh reality is. But, it shouldn't come as a surprise seeing that of course, its not the first time a human being's mentioning this.

Ooh, so the other day, we watched Singapore Idol, the audition. Funny! It's real entertaining than entertainment shows itself. I know I'm being mean, and really bad, because it takes a lot of guts and effort to actually go through the auditions. But what I don't get is how come some of them can make a ... well, make people laugh, even though that's not their intentions. I feel bad for them, really. Don't they practice first before entering the audition? Like amongst friends, so that if you're ridiculous, people can stop you. People can go to all lengths in a SINGING competition. Even doing some things that aren't even related to singing. Anyway, enough of the complaints.

What should I do with Goong? Really, I can't do other stuff now. Anyway Goong is this kdrama which is a big hit back in K itself. This is my latest KDrama since KSS. I havent been watching any dramas at all lately. Time to catch up. Hopefully. And now that there's no more Greys' Anatomy, I find it abit sad! Seriously. Even though, the next season will be out in September. Yippee!!

I've watched enough GA that even in the conference room just now, where there's some doctor talk, I quite understand their language. See? Tv can be good for you!

And speaking of TV, I find some interesting shows on tv lately. Must start watching more TV. Yeah right.

The Seven Deadly Sins Quiz on 4degreez.com

Sloth = Highest.

Man, its so funny. I just watched Jason Mraz's Geek In The Pink MV and its real cute! Man, I'm lovin the guy more, cuz he has this pink shirt on, which says OTAKU. It takes one to know one(what it means). And then he has this pink sunglasses as well as pink flip flops.. basically he was acting all pink and geeky in the MV.
I've really taken a liking on this guy. Even if he IS the Geek in the Pink.

And Orange Range's Walk On PV is just.. it gives you a peaceful feeling. And they have beautiful people in that video. It doesn't really matter that you don't understand what they're saying, but its a really nice video, and the song has been stuck in my head for the past few days now.

Anyway, listen to Tragedy. I'll just post the lyrics here. Its a slow, sad, I-can-cry type of song. (Taken from GA's by the way)

Brandi Callile - Tragedy

Sorry I'm only
Human you know me
Grown up oh no guess again

My days always
Dry up and blow away
Sometimes I could do that too
But make no mistake that

When you need a friend
You could count on anyone
But you know I'll defend
The tragedy that we knew as

The end Progress, changing
Growing then giving up
Somehow we're never quite prepared
But I understand it

When you need a friend
You could count on anyone
But you know I'll defend
The tragedy that we knew as
The end

So taking you with me would be like
Taking all your money to the grave
It does no good to anyone especially
The one you're trying to save
But it's so hard not to save

When you need a friend
You could count on anyone
But you know I'll defend
The tragedy that we knew as
The end

The WHOA Kind

I am still awake at 4am in the morning. Why? Because I've just watched the season finale of Grey's Anatomy. And yes, it was the whoa kind of episode. So here's the thing. I had no idea that the series was ending, until I checked it out sometime ago, during the day. Yeap, it was a surprise, but watching the episode(s) itself was a shocker. I should have known they'd make something like this, because, this is why I'm watching the show in the first place. Ep 25 had me going OMG (along with my sis, we watch this together). And so we (or more like me, since the other party fell asleep) waited to watch the ending, and... it was a nice enough ending. With a not-so-cool cliffhanger. But yes, the what's-going-to-happen-now question does linger.

Anyway, I need to get some sleep already. Since I'm supposed to be awake in an hours time.

I have a sudden fetish for vampires. Its nice reading vampire-related stories.
So far I've read Blood Hound, and currently Vampire Knight. Just finished reading A Thousand Years of Snow (Bisco Hatori) which seems incomplete, but oh well, we got Ouran after that, so no complaints. More Vamp please.

So you would know

People have ambitions. Great ones, ones that they'll work real hard to achieve. To become a famous idol, to be a great doctor, to become a pilot. Mainly something that they want to become in the future.
I'm not one of those "People". I am unique. I don't have great ambitions. I don't dream. Basically I don't ask for more. I only want a simple life, and I only ask for a simple life. I'm not ambitious, I'm not thinking far ahead. I don't have great goals. Basically, I am a loser I just live by taking things at its own pace.
Sometimes I ask myself, is it wrong to not have ambitions? Is it wrong to not think of a career path at this moment? Is it wrong if I am not like everyone else, who live to go to work everyday just to make money? I don't even 'see' myself in the future; I can't.
I don't want to be a doctor, I don't even want to be an IT professional.
I don't want to be like these adults.

What I want is
to live in a cottage, on top of some green hill, with the morning fresh air..

Actually I don't even know what I want.
Maybe I'll do further study after graduation.
Maybe I'll start looking for a job (which should start NOW).
Maybe I'll just be some lazy freeloader.
Who knows?

But everytime I see working adults in action, I keep wondering these things.

Anyway, I didn't know that learning PHP was like Java all over again. Only easier, or so I heard. I mean PHP doesn't even compare to Java in terms of extreme gibberish language, but I though it was something like HTML. Or I was hoping. But too bad.

Oh and I decided to look for this.

Must Have: A transport.
Basic Requirements: Sensitive, Caring, Best-friend qualities.

Yeap. That's pretty much about it. Guess what it is then.

And if I were to advertise myself, it'd be something like..

Loser. Loser. Loser.
Age: 81
Height: Below 160cm
Weight: The weight of a cow
Personality: Mixed-up-jumbled-up-of-a-lunatic-self-proclaimed-female

Oh my. I'm having such a laugh now.

Everything For A Reason

Reason why I'm called the Anime Queen in School

Desktop with Winamp player. Wallpaper feat the xxxHolic Anime; Winamp player feat TamaxHaru from Ouran HC.
Alright, so maybe that isn't enough proof (even the fact that those are anime-related are still not enough?!?!) so I've decided to let out a sneak peek at the contents of the laptop. And the reasons why this laptop is having so much problems all the time, and why its about time that I get a new laptop altogether (but that would be after I graduate - maybe). I just hope there wont be any Hardisk crash again soon.
There's a whole bunch of media files; video and manga (although I'm not sure if you can really call manga files media) and they're mostly series I'm currently reading/watching. Anyway, I'm not sure why I'm really blogging about this, informing the whole world really, what an Otaku I am.

And then, like I've mentioned in the previous post, there was the music. Yeap. Now that is a different story. Take a look at this list which was back in December, and this list, which is what is I currently have. See how much it has grown over a short period of 5 months?! Maybe I should lock this post, so that I won't get caught. Hmm..

Muzic

I love music. I've been an avid listener of the radio since ages ago (maybe because that was one of the (only)2 form of entertainment back then) and so of course I had to love music. It was always a switch between Power 98 and Perfect 10 (of course, do take note that this was back in Sec Sch days) since I don't stick to the station but instead prioritse the songs that they played. My favourite Duo DJ at that time was Power 98's JayAye (Justin Ang) and Jeremy Ratnum. And as for Perfect 10 was undecidable between Jean, Jamie and Carrie. In the end, it was Carrie Chong (till this day).

The first time I heard JA again (after a while) was on Perfect 10 and I was literally surprised, to the point that I asked my sister to check what station we were listening to. Now that JA's not on P98 anymore, I hardly listen to that station. Which is more the pity.

I now only listen to 987fm (as it is now called) usually on my bus rides. Other times, at home, it's my mp3s on the computer.
During the time when my laptop was reformatted a few months ago, all my mp3s were gone. And trust me, there were plenty of them. I had such a hard time accepting it. Now, whatever's in this Hardisk is all the new and latest songs that sometimes, its hard when I find the the songs I used to listen to (and would want to listen to again) is no longer there.

And it's weird because now that I've always listened to my mp3s, once they played those songs on the radio (as the 'New This Week') it doesn't sound so new anymore.

So. Anyway, I've been listening to alot of Punk/Rock/Alt Rock/whatever-other-genre-of-rock songs since then. With the random alternative in-betweens. Lately though, I was looking for R&B/Rap/Hip-Hop/Reggae/whatever-else-falls-under-this-category songs since its been ages since I last listen to those kind of music. The featured song this time round is taken from the movie 'Take The Lead' and really, every time I listen to it, I feel like dancing.

Special preview is Aly & AJ's rush. This is the Hilary-Duff-Alt-Pop-If-You-Can-Call-It-Alt-Rockish kinda genre. Basically the kind you'd hear if you watch a Disney movie. Pretty nice, especially the lyrics.

Anyway, here are the girls. (Apparently they're sisters) And what's unbelievable is that they're only 14/16 respectively? I'm not really sure, but don't they look 'old' for their age? Oh well. Most Amrcns are like that.
